The ENTER key, as opposed to a simple CR, which is also confusingly labeled
ENTER on a PC keyboard, doesn't have an ASCII code. The HP ENTER key is a
command key that's read only by your HP terminal (or terminal emulator) and is
used to instruct the terminal to transmit either a line, a page, or the
information entered into a form as a block of data to the host computer.

Unless your barcode scanner had the proper behavior programmed into it (and it
is almost 100% certain that it doesn't), it won't have a usable ENTER key on
its keyboard.
