Our shop uses Librarian from Tidal Software (formerly, Operations Control
Systems (OCS) ) - (650) 493-4100 -- for version and change control.
Another product available is VCS/3000 from Diamond Optimum Systems - (800)
362-8271. Our job and program documentation is kept in an MS Access
database specifically designed by our Operations group for this purpose.
The schema design incorporates three pages of entry fields, allowing for
almost any length of input required, from which a properly formatted
printed document may be produced.

Subject: Program and job stream documentation / version control

We are interested in what others are using to create program and job stream
documentation such as a narrative of what this job or program does. How
verbose does one get ? Also, what are others using for version control
particularly in a shop of approx 10 programmers possibly working on
different versions of the same thing ? Thanks.
