why??  because unless your company decides to buy openview, you won't get
enterprise-level monitoring of your mpe systems.  if you look at the
marketplace, you'll find several companies offering e-l monitoring
software.  if your management is *not* mpe-centric, chances are you're
running software (or will be shortly) that's from cooter cousin (:-) to
manage/monitor all your systems except for your 3000.  yet another blow to
hp3000's.
