This has been an interesting thread. The open market bids for such a
box number near a dozen just on this discussion; that's more interest
than was ever expressed at the HP Roundtables (hint, hint...)
If this topic recurs at HPWorld at a roundtable, I suggest someone keep
statistics. HP has long ignored this issue due to lack of interest, so
if it *is* a committed buy on your parts, that carries weight; combined
with "potential" buyers (ie, expressed interest) it might carry enough
weight to at least get justification as far as the theoretical "908"
machine goes (low-end 3000 with limited user license). That part would
be essentially a no-brainer (if the market is so small, how much revenue
do they stand to lose?) as opposed to a 9000/700 compatible product
which would take real development time to create suitable drivers and
Q&A time for testing.
