Hello Ed, and others.

Patience is a virtue, no?   Keep your eyes on the 3000 Newswire.  The
Stromasys HP3000 Freeware Edition will be available very, very soon.

I'm also available to answer any emulator questions.  Call or email.

To answer your specific question, direct serial line support is not 
implemented
in the current HP3000 emulator, nor do we have plans to add it.  You can
still connect serial devices via DTC.   Out-of-the-box the emulator uses
PuTTY to display the 3000 console on the host Linux system, but you
can connect to the virtual 3000 over your network using Reflection or any
other terminal emulator.
