Whether or not one expects much from "The New HP" with regard to Open MPE, I
think we can agree that the statement posted here on Wednesday really
doesn't say much.  Ever since the question of MPE's future beyond 12/31/06
was raised, HP has been saying they are "looking into it" or "considering
options."  Nothing in yesterday's statement varies materially from this
months-old position.  It is time for something substantive from HP on this
subject, so we can make some decisions and get on with carrying them out.
