...except this comes off (to me) as whining, which is likely to
attract scant few readers.

I like this idea much better, since (among other reasons) a page of
*clickable* URLs sure beats a page of *need-to-type* URLs.

Still, the "if you dare" part alerts my spider-sense ;) so that
if I go to the page at all, it's with skepticism on high.

No doubt there are as many opinions for the wording are there
are would-be wordsmiths.  (This is one reason why I hesitated
joining in the thread at all.)

That said...

How about combining these?
