Hello Friends,

[The following is forwarded for Alan Yeo, Organizer and Host Supreme,
who had the 3000-L link to comp.sys.hp.mpe fall down in its service
-- and fail to deliver his message to mail-list readers. Apologies if
you've already heard about this through the NewsWire, or another
mailing.]

Alan Says,

Hopefully some of you will already have been in receipt of an e-mail
from the 3000 NewsWire tracking this event, but for those that
haven't here is a quick heads up.

To quote Ron Seybold:

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, the most rare of events is taking place: An
HP 3000 user community meeting. We hope you can join us for a Free
Lunch and networking with 3000 experts and IT professionals. The
community will meet at the San Francisco Airport Hyatt Hotel,
starting at 10.

The free lunch is hosted by Alan Yeo of ScreenJet and Michael
Marxmeier of Marxmeier Software. Speedware and MB Foster, Transoft as
well as K-12 app vendor QSS are among the event's supporters. The
one-day affair includes free lunch, plus brief update talks from
leading community resources such as Allegro Consultants and the
Support Group, inc. Roundtables are being planned, too. The meeting
will give 3000 users a place to network and catch up on the latest
details and stories of Transition. We will talk about sustaining
homestead plans, too.

You can get on board by making your hotel reservations at the Hyatt
for a $119 room rate for the meeting, if you need to stay overnight.
Call hotel reservations direct at 650-347-1234 and mention the HP3000
Meet to get your rate.

A registration page for the event is online at
<http://hpmigrations.com/sfevent/>. The meeting is $30. Save the
date, tell your friends -- and I hope to see you in San Francisco
soon.

Alan adds,

Also we are planning an Informal HP3000 Social Gathering at the Hyatt
on the evening of the 23rd, so if your a current HP3000'er or a past
HP3000'er and just want to renew acquaintances come along and meet up
in the bar of the Hyatt.

In the mean time, circle that date in your diaries, and book that flight.
