Eben,

This is correct image behavior ! The key XXXXX is added to the
automatic master when the entry is added to dataset #1. A DBFIND always
looks for the key in the automatic master - which it finds. The chain
length returned after the DBFIND will be zero, because there are no
entries in dataset #2. Of course, doing a DBGET on dataset #2 yields
nothing. When programming, always check the chain length returned in
the status area to see if it is greater than zero.

We have just located a potential problem and would appreciate some
answers
from the image gurus.

Given an automatic master dataset, and two detail datasets. Both
details
are linked to the automatic master by the very first field in the
dataset. Given key XXXXX, and a record existing in dataset #1,
performing
a DBFIND on dataset #2 yields a hit (DBFIND DB-STATUS = 0). But of
course, the DBGET yields nothing. Does anyone have experience with
this
and/or knows the reasons for it? Is this normal?

We can repeat this problem with multiple databases and datasets.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!
