Peter,

Assuming that the user will be using a DOS window to issue his commands to
transfer these '.xml' files then the following should work (providing you
have a recent enough version of the MPE/iX ftp server).

ftp>open ....
...
ftp>quote type L (to select bytestream transfer)
ftp>prompt (to disable prompting for each file)
ftp>quote site posix on (to indicate usage of HFS directory)
ftp>mput *.xml
ftp>quit

Regards
Paul Christidis

I could get an ftp server running on my PC but generally they don't have
one
running. I just want to give some general instructions that might work on
various systems.

All I need to do is give someone some files via e-mail on a Windows PC to
put on an MPE system. I can get the files onto our MPE system so perhaps
if
I could use something like tar or WinZip on MPE? There must be something
similar to package up files on MPE?

How would I do that? I suppose I need the equivalent of

tar -cvf <filename> .

i.e. create a tar file with all the files in the current directory and any
subdirectories.

Thanks.

Peter
