There is a way I have seen work. I'll give you the basics and hopefully
you can get it to work.
 
First from the SPARC you telnet over to the 9K. Once on the 9K run hpterm
in the background with the display redirected back to the SPARC. (e.g.
hpterm -display sparc:0.0& ). The display will then showup on the SPARC.
You can then exit from the original telnet.
 
Now in the hpterm window on the SPARC you can run VT3K. You can set this
up with scripts and you can add more to the hpterm to change the window
name and add more term memory.
 
If memory serves me right there was some problem with a MOTIF resource
missing on the SUN. It was not a big problem and we just set it up for
hpterm to ignore that resource. (I don't remember how that was done)
