I confess, as the editor of the Guide, I was well aware that the only
difference
between Roman-8 and Roman-9 is a single character ($BA=Euro).  The '!' in
question might be interpreted as an in-joke to those aware of this fact.  Now
Wirt's given the game away, this marks the end to my promising marketing
career.  It's back to the code mines for me...
