Well, fellow listers, it is time to confess gross ignorance. I have been
using the HP (e)3000 for over twenty years. I have set up many machines on
a network, but have never understood the difference between the "Local HP
3000 node name" (NMMGR screen #2) and the "Local domain name" (NMMGR screen
166). We are having trouble with STM (who doesn't) and HP informs me that
if I don't use RESLCNF, then I must use the HOSTS file. This is news to me.
The HP documentation I have found hasn't been real helpful in understanding
how to configure these. I think that they are written from the point of
view of someone that already understands networking. So if anyone has any
clues regarding configuring these files or making STM work correctly, I
would appreciate the information.
