I'm using Windows Explorer on NT 4.0 quite frequently, including
creating or deleting subdirectories or subdirectory trees. I have
not yet enocuntered any system aborts so far, so please make sure
to take a memory dump in case you should ever hit one.
My present experience with Samba/iX showed that problems like system
aborts were usually tied to underlying file system or Posix issues
and not to Samba code itself (as it does no dirty tricks using low-
level MPE APIs or similar, just plain Posix calls). But in either case,
to isolate and resolve the root cause, a memory dump might be pretty
important (unless you can duplicate the problem at will...)

That one sounds somehwat like the "rm -r" issue that has been introduced
with a certain patch on MPE/iX 5.5 (the exact ID exacpes me) and which
can be fixed by a more recent patch (maybe still in beta). Unfortunately
the latter patch ID also escapes me at present, but it should pop up by
a quick search in the HP3000-L archives using keywords like "rm -r and
markb or bixby" (as Mark found the issue and also reported when the patch
became available ;-)
