Thanks for all the responses and it did help.

I forgot to mention that MPE version which is a version prior to MPEiX
where wildcarding is not present and I needed to keep the group
structure, just get rid of the files.

The CONTINUE statement prior to the PURGEGROUP was exactly what I was
looking for..
