You can set the interval at which Glance reports from within Glance. As I
recall it goes by seconds. You can also set glance to print the update to a
spool file which can be saved. In 5.0/5.5 there was/is a problem using
Glance for extended periods of time, it causes the system to crash. There is
a patch for this problem.

A second alternative is SCOPE. This is essentially the same measuring
algorithms as Glance but it writes to a file. It needs another package PC
based to read the Scope file. These packages are not part of the FOS.

Thirdly, there are also the equally wonderful products from Lund Performance
Solutions.

Fourthly, HP will, for a fee, supply you with an analysis. Talk to your ASE
if you have one or the ITRC if you don't.

Subject: [HP3000-L] GLANCE QUESTION

Hi

I need to gather some system stat's to satisfy a request form Management.
Can you run Glance from a job?

Are there any other ways to gather CPU/DISC/Memory use?

I need to have 48 data points per day for a month. ( Check the system every
half hour. )

Thanks,

Marilyn Salvas
