This week marks the one year anniversary of the passing of Jim Trudeau from
this life into the next. For those who didn't know Jim Trudeau (even
vicariously through this list as I did) here are some selected (by me)
quotes from last year concerning him:
Joe Geiser:
Jim was not only an excellent resource to many of us here on HP3000-L, and
in person, but kept his sense of humor until the end. Quite a few of us
knew of his cancer condition, but he seemed to shove that aside and to keep
working as long as he could.
He will be sorely missed by many of us - this is truly, a sad, sad day.
Denys Beauchemin:
At one time he was in Houston at the same time I was in town, but he did not
want me to come and visit, because he couldn't talk and he felt
uncomfortable meeting me for the first time when he was in such a bad shape.
So the opportunity came and went. Then he told me he was doing better and
he wasn't coming to Houston anymore. Irascible as he was, perhaps that was
not quite the whole truth.
Wirt Atmar:
Irascibility is just another word for courage and determination.
I never had the chance to meet Jim, but I did engage in some spirited
private exchanges with him, particularly concerning the physical and
emotional traits of the human sub-species Homo Accountus, colloquially known
as bean-counters. :-)
