Just for info,

as the current Samba 1.9.18/iX prototype seems to still need some
work (and also has to be rolled forward to the recently released
1.9.18p2 code base from Oz), I decided to roll two of the MPE/iX
specific fixes/enhancements into the version 0.7c code base, thus
creating a 0.8 version.

* File modification timestamps can now be controlled by the client.
The MPE/iX Posix utime() related restriction has been relaxed. For
example, if you copy a PC file to or on a Samba/iX share now, the
copy will retain the originial modification date instead of
switching to "now". Keep in mind that you should keep your PC
clock in reasonable sync with your 3000 clock now.

* The setuid()/setgid() related limitations in smbrun() have been
  relaxed to make non-guest printing, non-guest preexec/postexec,
message command and dfree command work properly. Also see sample
smb.conf file and smb.conf documentation for details on those
  directives.

You can find more info regarding Samba/iX 0.8 as well as download a
copy, if you would like to participate in the "alpha test" (please
notice that this is still unsupported freeware at present), at

  http://jazz.external.hp.com -or- ftp://ftp.3k.com/POSIX/samba.htm

Cheers, Lars/iX ;-)
