I think it is that particular engineer/call coordinator. I have had him
answer once and got a similar response, but the other engineers and call
coordinators have never responded like that. Besides, how would I know
to look for the patch for a latent Y2K bug (e.g., NMCGD03(A)) that just
raised its ugly head last week on my 6.0pp2 system? IF you don't know
you have the problem, how do you know what to look for, especially if
you don't use the web site that much?

I agree that this is not the typical response of the HPRC, but it has
happened to me and now others.

When I called the HPRC, I was also directed to the website and told to
pick
out whatever patches apply.  I found this to be a very flippant
response
also.  Sure enough, last Friday, I found that I had missed a patch and
now I
need to schedule more down time.  Sigh....
