I ran into a strange problem that I have verified on three different
machines running MPE/iX 5.0. None of these machines have Predictive
Support configured or active. When MPE starts, it turns on a program in
the PRED group called PSMON. If you are doing an update with Patch/iX or
Autoinst, they fail in the restore from the SLT phase because PSMON has
several files open. The only way(after several hours of cold starts/cool
starts/attempted purges) I found to disable PSMON was to remove all
capabilities from the PRED group except IA and BA. Then on a restart it
does not turn on. Why is this occuring? Has anyone had this problem?
Just passed this to the response center during another call.
