Code39 has only 43 printable characters. But if your equipment supports
extended code 39 (I would think mist do), you can print all 128 ascii
characters.

a return is control-M, and in extended is $M.

Someplace in my past we had shop floor charts with special codes on them.
This was one:    *$M*     noting that code39 needs the asterisks as
start/stop
characters.
