I just wanted to post a note letting you all know that the "powers-that-be"
in HP3000-land definitely follow this list. I had three people from HP
contact me in response to my rant, via both email and telephone. As a
direct result of their intervention, the software vendor in question has
responded with all sorts of help. I am sure that if we end up with the
application in question not being on the HP3000, it will not be the vendor's
fault.

Another direct result of seeing HP become involved in minor skirmish: I am
more confident than ever that the HP3000 is truly undergoing a renaissance,
both within HP and without.

My thanks to all involved.
