I had a similar problem after retrieving a patch from the HP support web site.

I downloaded it via Internet Explorer to my W95 PC and uploaded to the
HP3000 via WRQ's FTP. Executing unpackp on the uploaded file resulted in
some error message which I do not immediately recall - but I do not
remember it to be the same as the one you experienced.

In any case, after all the various versions of mover were attempted, I was
only able to successfully complete the patch installation after using the
WRQ Reflection file transfer function INSTEAD of WRQ's FTP client.

I've been meaning to contact WRQ about this problem but just have not goten
around to it.

I also have not tried the necessary file movement steps using the Minisoft
product.

Needless to say, I have a very prominent note about not using FTP to upload
patches to my HP3000 - instead using WRQ Reflection file transfer.
