Through sockets, anything is possible. However, there are some important
issues such as authentication. Assuming, authentication (security) is an
issue, you can create a client/server application to do this. One way to do
it is to write a listener (server) that exists on the e-3, use it to
authenticate, and have it dyamically create a command file which is then
runs your job. Another way to do it is to use a Web Server on the HP 3000
use cgi to launch the Job. The actual request is initiated by a client
piece on the Unix computer.
