Video cables are extremely finicky. If your cable is too long or of inferior
quality, the picture on the monitor will be degraded. If you want to have
multiple monitors on your system, you will need to have a powered device. Look
at http://www.nti1.com/vsplt-pc.html, for examples.

I have successfully used such devices to have up to 4 monitors showing the same
image. There are many such gadgets, but one rule is to buy quality cables and
keep them as short as you can.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .

Subject: (Not an MPE Question) Video splitter

I used a Y cable splitter to attach two monitors to my Compaq PC. The
video signal is diminished and is causing the screen to be dim and not as
sharp. Has anyone had success attaching two monitors to a PC and how did
you do it?
