There is a status returned to a variable in you program's stack, not a JCW. Check the manual for the
parms.

Hello,
I'm just trying to understand the exact meaning of the description for
CREATEPROCESS in the MPE manual -
"createstatus :
Returns a value indicating the type of success or
failure. A negative value indicates that the
associated message is a warning, an error
terminates the intrinsic call, and a warning means
the call continues. Check the job control word
(JCW) before continuing. The following is a list
of the possible values returned:"
So the createstatus tells me everything I need to know. Why do I need
to check the JCW? What's it going to tell me?
I know the JCW is set to a certain value when a program is aborted by a
user request or system error. Is it just an additional check to make as
not all errors are returned in "createstatus"?
Thanks.
Peter
