I have a logfile which indicates the following when I try to purge it.

%purge log7815.pub.sys
-----Will purge LOG7815.PUB.SYS (code "", type VB, EOF 33620, 1056 sectors)
1056 sectors will be saved
OK to purge 1 file (y/N)? y
 -----Purging LOG7815.PUB.SYS (1056 sectors)
BAD VARIABLE BLOCK STRUCTURE  (FSERR 105)
Unable to purge file "LOG7815.PUB.SYS". (CIERR 384)

I've tried purging it from the system prompt and from MPEX and I get the same message. Is there a way to purge this?
