At what level are you trying to simulate, just the CI or the actual
execution of code. If it just a training tool, something that behaves like the
command interpreter, then there might be a benefit. If instead you are thinking
about something that would allow for the execution of programs compiled on the
HP3000, then I would suggest that you might want to think twice about it.
Several years ago, okay more then that, some came up with a product that would
run MPE code on a PC. They even had it at an Interex conference, don't remember
which one. I do know that they had there booth open for only a short time before
HP (I think) to exception to it and explained it to them. Intellectual property
(MPE) theft or missapproiation. I don't know (and don't believe) that they were
prosecuted, but the product disappeared in a flash. Goes back to the licensing
agreement and reverse engineering.

        Nice though though.

Subject: MPE simulator for Linux/DOS?

Please don't flame me if this is a stupid question, but is there an (free)
MPE simulator (not emulator) available for Linux or DOS? If not, would
there be any value in having one? Perhaps it could be used for training
purposes, or just as a "toy" for the MPE aficionados out there.
