I've checked the archives and over the last four or five years multiple
readers have asked about a command line tool for
loading,selecting/unloading media in auto loaders and changers.

HP-UX has "mt" for simple DAT control, the HP e3000 has the devctrl script
in MPEXL.TELESUP (it invokes DEVTOOL), what I'm looking for is the
Unix/Linux equivalent of "mtx" or "mc" "mtx" offered extensions to mt,
mc (media changer) - replaces "mtx" with more functionality.

Does anybody know if DEVTOOL can be support changers with slot selection?
Could it be enhanced? Or would it be better to go to the open source
repository and look at a new port? "mtx" is available, it has been ported
to Solaris, HP-UX, Linux, etc. See URL: http://mtx.sourceforge.net/

If so is there somebody out there with good/great porting skills. I've
got the DLT changers to try a port on... if somebody can try a quick port
and compile... (if there is such a thing) :-)
