We run an old 935 as our main business machine and over the
course of the late year the DDS-1 unit attached to it (HP1300H)
has had to have its mechanism changed at least four times.
We are now getting Bad Media errors again on all tapes loaded
into the unit (despite repeated cleanings and use of new, old
and medium aged tapes) and it looks like it needs to be
replaced yet again.
What I am looking for is an HP-IB alternative to the 1300H that
is a DD-2 or DDS-3 style unit that will read our existing tapes
and provide exactly the same functionality as the 1300H (cold
loads, boot, etc.)
Any recommendations and advice on how to proceed is
welcomed.
Regards,
Jim
P.S. Direct replies in addition to a list posting would be
appreciated as I receive the digest of this list but once a day.
TIA - Jim
