Or a home environment, either. It's notorious for flooding ISP help desks
with calls from users complaining about hacking attempts from 127.0.0.1, or
software on their machine making requests on port 53 when it shouldn't...
There's no replacement for a good dedicated firewall. Fortunately, even a
home user can have one for not a lot of money for the hardware (all you need
is a low-end machine (even a 486 will do, although I recommend a Pentium if
you're going to do much of anything) and none for the software, and get the
benefits of real Internet conneciton sharing in the bargain. Check out IPCop
