Well, this is a new one on me. Anyone else out there running HBOC Amisys
& Tivoli Maestro? (Anyone trying to do anything as convoluted as this?)

We upgraded Maestro on one of our production boxes last week to version
1.47P. Since then, a bunch of our Amisys jobs show up in the schedule as
ABEND after they run when they used to show up as DONE. (They are
completing successfully.)

These are jobs submitted by the users by means of Amisys' "Jobber"
facility. They are submitted at priority 2 so that Maestro will pick
them up and put them in a schedule which runs before nightly Amisys
production. They are defined in Arranger as skeleton jobs, with wild
cards to match the bulk of the job name. (The jobs which run as
regularly scheduled production don't have this problem because they are
streamed by Maestro (Batchman), so the SIGNALER program is inserted
before EOJ at stream time.)

I know that if we could use MSTREAM, it would automagically insert the
Maestro SIGNALER program into the JCL before EOJ, and everything would
be fine. But Jobber doesn't do this and MSTREAM won't handle all the
Amisys-specific parameter substitution. I also know that we could insert
this line "manually" (using QEdit or MPEX -- hardly what I would
consider a manual process -- AAMOF, Jobber uses QEdit to do its variable
substitution), but HBOC/Amisys doesn't want us to do this, mainly
because when we upgrade to version 9.42 of Amisys (from our current
version of 6.65), we'd likely have to go through this all over again.

Tivoli couldn't tell us why the jobs used to show up as DONE in Maestro
and now show up as ABEND; I suspect this was a bug with skeleton jobs
all along, and they've just fixed it. HBOC/Amisys says we're the only
client they know of that has this problem, but we're also several revs
behind on Amisys and (now) running the latest version of Maestro.
Someone at another Amisys & Maestro site told us they had had similar
problems until they installed Amisys v9.42, but Amisys discounted that,
saying "they're not even live yet." So I'm taking it to the list. Anyone
else having/had/expecting similar problems with Amisys and Maestro?
(Working together, I mean; not in terms of customer support.) Any ideas,
on or off list, are welcome.

Sorry for the use of bandwidth.

TIA,
Patrick
