Perhaps, it was earlier than $TODAY. I just checked the version of the TI
manual shipped three weeks ago with our new 979, and it's the 8/97 version.

Hello all TurboIMAGE users:

I think the "bug" with obsolete versions of the TurboIMAGE
manual being sent out with new HP 3000s has finally been
killed..... because I just got this today from HP Mariann Tymn:

> I have been assured that the correct version of the TurboIMAGE
> manual will be sent from this point on. I still am investigating as
> to how the supplying division plans to handle orders that went out
> with the wrong version.

thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU, Mariann !!!..... :-)

I am reading "from this point on" as being no later than today,
Thursday 19 November '98. IOW, if anybody out there anywhere
in the world takes delivery of an HP 3000 that was shipped >=
$TODAY, you should definitely find the included TurboIMAGE
manual is the August 1997 version or later (no: I do not know
yet when the *next* version of the manual will be released)....
