HP is working the problem but thought I'd throw this out into
the wind:

Some users are getting differing errors at log on
time and in their VESoft Securty/3000 menus as well interesting
errors in other applications, like MANMAN when trying to run a
command.

I've done the usual thing regarding the System Volume Set disc
space and there is plenty about 5GB free. Please don't respond
with that idea.

Another thing I've noticed is the System Log file has filled up
and has switched logs to another one.

The symptoms starting occuring yesterday after a specific user
using Minisoft's ODBC and consumed over 28% of the CPU. Yet
the symptoms persisted long after the user logged off.

Other symptoms:
Spooled printers are dropping spool (apparently) at random and
must be Startspooled.

A number of incoming network devices where users log on
are UNAVAIL SYS, i.e.:

  672 A UNAVAIL SYS
  673 A UNAVAIL SYS
  674 A UNAVAIL SYS
  675 A UNAVAIL SYS
  676 A UNAVAIL SYS
  677 A UNAVAIL SYS
....

These problems are similar to an occurance last month. HP sent
a patch NSTFDM2 A tape (A Telnet Patch?) for this.

I could not get a system prompt in VT-MGR but I could in Telnet
right away. (Well probably the Telnet patch works...)

Some of the other errors users received are:

(from a VESoft menu)
NM SYS a.00.a9a4a0 dbg_abort_trace+$24
NM PROG 551.000db6b8 EN_eprint+$11c
