Don't try this at home.  Or especially at work if all you have are two
tapes and you've never done this before.  You should have received a
manual with your tapes "Installation and Upgrade Manual" which is
specific to the release you are installing/updating to.

You need a minimum of two tapes:
System Load Tape (SLT), the bootable image of the MPE "kernel";
Fundamental Operating System (FOS), subsystems and utilities which are
   part of MPE itself.

These are your "SYSGEN format" (SLT) and "CMSTORE format" (FOS).  There
may be additional tapes/media:
Subsystem Tape (Subsys) containing optionally purchased HP software.
Add-on Subsystem Tape (Add-On) with newly purchased HP software.
Powerpatch Tape (PPT) containing patches for this MPE release.
Reactive Patches for any site-specific bug fixes recently fixed.

This is not a "restore and go" operation.  It's not as nasty other
platforms, but you should refer to the intallation documentation.
