Yes, the Oracle factor and the many other features SAP DB has to offer (
www.sapdb.org).

I am also doing this in an attempt to save an existing HP e3000 customer.
They have a RDBMS requirement and it has to be SAP DB. They have
investigated other open solution databases but SAP DB is what they want.  Of
course IMAGE/SQL will be a main ingredient in the mix.

They will NOT be trying to run SAP on the 3000.  It will be used for
existing RDBMS applications and new development.

After following the SAP DB list server, I have noticed those 100+ developers
have been very involved and helpful in supporting the product via the open
list server.
