Hi Chip :)
    One thing that has worked well for me, in the past,  is to check with a
vendor I have worked with and find to have the same values, ethics and
business practices as myself... Then I ask my preferred vendor for
recommendations/referrals... just like 3k shops... the consulting world is
close knit and your current vendors probably can point you to a few
possibilities :)
