c|net's NEWS.COM has a brief article on HP cutting some jobs at its
Vancouver, WA site.  The most disturbing passage is:

        While details were not set, an HP spokeswoman told AP that
        HP employees will be offered a voluntary severance package,
        but the company will lay off workers if its targets aren't met.

So much for the "HP Way." :(
