Hello Folks,

RE: MPE Networking BOF proceeding HPWORLD party?

Our friend "lowercase" donna and I have been talking about HPWORLD/Chicago
and the Cobol SIG w/wine-cheese that preceded the HPWORLD Party!

We checked the Interex E-AD "Top 10 Reasons To Attend" for HPWORLD/SanFran
and found that the Cobol SIG did not survive. I have contacted Gayle at
Interex and expressed an interest in establishing a new "Birds Of a Feather"
(BOF) meeting called "MPE Networking" for Weds 8/17 at 5:30-6:30/7. We have
been busy and I believe we have already secured funds/sponsor(s) to provide
refreshments.

This is all open to discussion before I commit to Gayle and write up this
BOF. One of the questions we had was if the attendees would be most
interested in a MPE "people" networking (pre-party-party), or if you would
be interested in a combination of MPE networking "technical content" to go
along with the MPE "people" networking (pre-party-party).

I need to work on a FTP/iX security brown bag, so if folks were interested I
could present a small part of that. "donna" is involved in SAR-OX
implementation w/networking and could speak to us on that. Quite a few
others out here are knowledgeable with networking and may be interested in
discussing MPE networking and migrations. If we kept it down to 10 minutes
per topic we should still have plenty of time for the pre-party-party.

Let us know what you think!

Regards,

James Hofmeister
