Even if not a plot, perhaps HP/CSY should now obviously reverse
it's decision based on the grand level of interest in MPE
and thus jump off this high point in market awareness to leverage
it to reestablish the e3000 as a viable business.

It's getting more and more obvious that:

1. The HP 3000 thrived as well as it did despite a number of HP
missteps along the way over the (many) years by repeatedly
mis-marketing MPE and it's great Image database system.

2. Despite the above, CSY has been entirely *too* successful in
developing a business computer system that is very cost effective
for the mid-size business.  It is so cost effective for the
customer that CSY is now forced to announce the close of business
in five more years.

It's a sad, sad day for the computer business when the business
success of the customer results in business failure of the
vendor.
