There is another thing you of which should be aware. It is a good idea to use
"creator=" when restoring to a new account and expecting the structure to be
created at restore time, as needed. I just did a test here and noticed that in
the source account there were a few files created by, in this case,
"manager.sys". When I restored the account to another account using Barry's
command, restore created the user "manager" in the target account, and assigned
the files which in the source account had "manager.sys" as creator to
"manager.target" as the creator. Whilst this may be a bug, or rather, an
undocumented feature in restore, I suggest to you that it may be a good idea to
specify the creator when creating a directory structure during restore. Unless
of course, there is an overriding reason why you would not want to assign the
same creator to all the files in the new account.

The account from which you will run the restore needs either SM or OP
capability to use "create=" and "creator=" for new accounts.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .

:file t;dev=tape
:restore *t;@[log in to unmask];account=YYY;create

Notes:

1) To create a new account you must be logged on as a user with
   SM capability.

2) This will only create groups and users in the new YYY account that
are needed to restore the files from the XXX account that are on your
tape. For example, if you have a group GRP.XXX, but no files from that
group are on your store tape, then GRP.YYY won't be created.
Similarly, if you have a user XAVIER.XXX, but none of the files on
your STORE tape were created by XAVIER.XXX, then the user XAVIER.YYY
   won't be created, either.

3) If you have special capabilities on any of the groups in account XXX,
such as PM or PH, these capabilities won't be added to the
corresponding groups in account YYY. In addition to your RESTORE,
you should also :run BULDACCT.PUB.SYS;info="XXX" and then
edit the resultant jobstream BULDJOB1 to change all occurences
of XXX to YYY. Then run the job to duplicate completely the XXX
   environment in YYY.
