QEDIT and LP file equation

I'm curious as to why this happens.

From within QEDIT :

FILE DUMMY;DEV=LP,1,1
L DUMMY

The result is :

"Warning: No Line"
But isn't that the message you get when you try to List an empty file ?

What's it trying to do ? Is it trying to list the contents of LP and finding it empty?

I'd expect "Error: NONEXISTANT PERMANENT FILE (FSER 52)".

And just to add to my confusion, the above sequence of commands creates a two-line spoolfile by the name DUMMY !!

Is this a "feature" or has my day been even longer than it feels  :) ?
