You can boot from a DLT drive, as long as it's a single-ended (SE) SCSI
device.

You cannot boot from a FWSCSI DLT drive - unless the HP3000 is an
A-class
or N-class.

Yes you can boot from a DLT.  However you can't get a DLT O/S, FOS or
Subsystem tape from HP.  Same thing applies to using reel-to-reel tape.
And I'm pretty sure no third party vendors send software out on DLT.
