Don't overlook the option of die-cut label stock. I had to replace between
10 and 20 different hand-written labels with the Zebra-printed ones. Some
of the old labels were multi-part, and one even had a perforated cut so
that a portion of it could be torn off.

I created a 4x4 label with cuts to satisfy every label size, shape, and
type we needed. This way, you could print a label for a part and a label
for it's warehouse location at the same time. In my case, since not all
equipment had bee barcoded by property management, I printed a calibration
certificate label and a property ID label at the same time. I used an
otherwise blank part of the multipart label to print the calibration
technician's ID in big characters, so they didn't run off with someone
else's labels.

You can always invent a new way to use the "wasted" space..... For example,
half of a 4x4 label might have Material Safety Data Sheet info.

Sure, the label stock is more expensive this way, but, a lot less expensive
than multiple printers each loaded with different label stock.
