The 957 has 12 memory slots, which must be populated in pairs.

The max memory is dependent on the memory boards you can get for the
box, of which the current largest is 128mb per board or 256mb per pair,
which makes the max 1.536gb. However, you cannot get 128mb boards from HP,
as they sell as their largest 64mb boards for a max of 768mb. The 128mb
boards can be acquired from 3'rd party memory suppliers.

Whats cool about this is that now memory is cheap enough to make these
sizes reasonably affordable.

Computing sure has gotten cheaper for the h/w. For a pc upgrade I just
got fast dimm memory (168pin) for ~ $1/mb and got a fast 7.2gb
ultra/dma(ide-9ms) drive for only $189.
