I have just upgraded to MPE/iX 5.0, and it was the most painless
upgrade I've ever done (and I've been done upgrades for oh... 15
years now).
 
There was a nice tool to tell me which files to delete so I could get
my 120,000 contig sectors... and I could feed the output directly
into the store;purge command.
 
I didn't need to remember to purge AXLDEV1... it did it for me!
 
All the instructions worked right.
 
I didn't need to remove passwords and UDCs from 1/2 million accounts
and users.
 
There was only one patch tape (and yes I do have networking
products!).
 
It was wonderful! Well done HP!
 
So if there is a proposal to make it even easier, and put everything
on a single tape, then I would say YES! It's a great idea!
