As far as I know, NetIPC is fully supported and probably will remain so as
long as MPE exists.  Many, many networking systems on MPE are written using
NetIPC rather than sockets (NetBase, etc., etc.) so anyone who thinks they
can obsolete NetIPC will be in for a rude surprise.

Note however that HP *has* dropped support for NetIPC on HP-UX, which will
occasionally result in confusion about whether NetIPC is still viable on
MPE.  NetIPC is still the most "MPEish" way of doing networking on the 3000,
with its tight integration with the rest of the traditional MPE file system
APIs (NOWAIT I/O, etc.).
