there is an 'L' ftp patch available (FTPGD29A) that i put on my system in may.
*all* of my 'cannot connect to host' and 'service unavailable' problems went
away!  when i applied this patch it was still beta.  it may be gr'd by now....but
i've found it to be very stable.  in addition to this ftp patch, i also applied a
ns transport patch (NSTGD19A).  i high recommend calling hp to get these
patches.          - d
