trying to get from an Image DB to MS Access. As an intermediate
step, they're trying to create a DBE file from Image, then get the "Special
GRANT/REVOKE disallowed for reserved user MGR@xxxx (DBERR 2306)."

 dberr 2306

2306 MESSAGE Special GRANT/REVOKE disallowed for reserved user !.
(DBERR 2306)

CAUSE The DBEUserID specified in the GRANT or REVOKE statement is a
reserved user (PUBLIC, TEMP, SYSTEM, HPRDBSS). The GRANT or REVOKE
statement is ignored.

ACTION Refer to the ALLBASE/SQL Database Administration Guide explanation
of reserved users and their purposes

What you might consider doing is to allow imagesql to create the dbe for you
then use imagesql to add users to the dbe...

There are a few notes on this subject in the itrc knowledge db...

how can I attach a SQLDBE in 1 account to an image db in another DocId:
KBRC00000477 Updated: 1/6/00 12:27:32 PM

How do I create a SQL DBE for my TurboImage database? DocId: KBRC00000223
Updated: 10/7/03 1:08:00 PM

These may be good starter. The manual getting started with image sql is
another good reference. http://docs.cup.hp.com/en/36385-90011/index.html

Security with allbase/sql is different the image and is not related to the
account,group, user access....

Hope this helps
