Opened? Why opened? Who has it open? Open how? For reading or for writing? Why
do you want to purge a file that someone or something thinks valuable?

(But nevermind).

PURGELINK doesn't really delete the file - it just deletes it logically, to
stop anyone seeing it except the person/thing/s who has it open.
The physical delete takes place on them closing that file

I'd guess that whatever happens at the end of that session includes rewriting
it, not just closing it, so that it 'comes back'.
